11 More Guides: CBD Neighbourhoods, Free Attractions & Safety

This week: Surry Hills and Darling Harbour, two of Sydney's best free attractions, brunch and beer culture, and honest safety info.

What's new this week

Another eleven guides across the site, continuing to fill out every section rather than racing ahead on just one:

Neighbourhoods: Surry Hills (Sydney's café capital) and Darling Harbour (the family-friendly waterfront) join the growing neighbourhoods section, giving a much clearer picture of the inner city beyond the harbour postcards.

Things to do: Two of the best free things in the entire city now have proper guides — the Royal Botanic Garden and the Art Gallery of NSW, including its striking newer Naala Badu building.

Food & drink: A full explainer on Sydney's brunch culture (genuinely closer to a civic institution than a meal), plus a guide to the city's heritage pubs and growing craft beer scene.

Day trips: The Central Coast joins the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, and Royal National Park as a fourth escape from the city, for anyone chasing quieter beaches than Sydney's own.

Practical info: An honest, non-alarmist safety guide (the ocean and the sun matter far more than crime), and a practical look at accessibility across public transport and major attractions.

A running tally

That's now over 30 guides live across all six sections, roughly five weeks after launch. The plan hasn't changed: two to three updates a week, spread evenly, written properly rather than churned out. Thanks for reading along — see the homepage for the current full count, which updates automatically with every new guide.
