What Totally Sydney is, how it's built, and why it exists.
Totally Sydney is an independent, constantly-growing travel guide to Sydney, Australia. We write neighbourhood guides, attraction write-ups, food and drink recommendations, day trips, and the practical information visitors actually need — honestly, and in plain language.
What makes this different
Most travel sites are optimised for one of two things: advertising revenue or affiliate commissions. Both push toward the same result — content that recommends whatever pays, padded out to rank well in search engines, rather than written to actually help the person reading it.
We're building this site the opposite way: start with what's genuinely useful, keep it honestly written, and grow it slowly and properly rather than publishing thousands of thin pages overnight.
How the site is built
Every page here is written deliberately, not generated in bulk. We publish new guides two to three times a week, and we're gradually expanding into 16 languages so the site is useful to Sydney's visitors regardless of where they're from.
